For this episode of OOPTalks, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the budding music producer @Kenno.P. Beyond his impressive beats, he also brings his passion and drive to his day job at India's premium sneaker boutique, VegNonVeg. Known for his blend of artistry and hustle, Kenno’s journey is one you won’t want to miss. Read through to take a peek at how he balances his music alongwith his day job.

OOP: Tell us a bit about yourself and what you do?
Kenno.P: Hey, my name is Kennith Parmar and my stage name is Kenno.P. I am a music producer in love with hip-hop. When I’m not working on beats, I manage a sneaker store called Vegnonveg.
OOP: What does a typical day in your life looks like?
Kenno.P: My day is a mix of balancing my day job and my passion for music. I work at Vegnonveg during the day, which is a sneaker store where I’m surrounded by the culture of streetwear and footwear. That job gives me a good sense of community, and it also keeps me connected with a creative space.
After work, I usually dive into producing beats or working on tracks that have been in the works. Sometimes, it's a late-night grind, especially when I’m really in a zone with a particular sound or melody.
The balance between my job and making music helps me stay grounded, and it fuels my growth in both areas. I’m constantly learning, whether it’s about the retail world or the music industry, and I think that mix of experiences keeps me evolving as an artist.

OOP: What got you started in Music Production?
Kenno.P: I’ve always been drawn to music, but it really all started with Lil Wayne. Something about his energy, his storytelling, and the way he blended clever wordplay with raw emotion just clicked for me. That curiosity led me to try making my own beats, and the more I learned, the more hooked I became.
OOP: Which sneaker makes you feel the most creative and how do you get the inspiration for your songs?
Kenno.P: The Chuck 70s definitely. They're a classic and they blend into so many different cultures and styles, and I love that versatility. It reminds me of how I want my music to be - something that can connect with a variety of people, no matter where they come from. As for inspiration, it comes from everywhere: the vibe of a room, a conversation, or even a random sound I hear during the day.
OOP: What is your personal style?
Kenno.P: I wouldn’t say I have a specific style - I just wear what feels right in the moment. My wardrobe is a mix of everything, from oversized tees to cropped shirts. Right now, I’m really into rocking jorts with cropped shirts. It’s kind of that easy-going vibe, but I like to mix things up depending on my mood. I think style should be fluid, just like creativity - it’s about expressing yourself without being too rigid.

OOP: Having worked in the sneaker industry for so many years, how have you seen the trends in fashion and sneakers change over the years?
Kenno.P: Definitely! The sneaker game has shifted a lot over the years. When I first started, it was all about trainers and high-tops. Then it shifted toward more minimalist, low-profile sneakers, like flats or lifestyle kicks. Right now, I’m seeing some of the classic styles making a strong comeback - like the Adidas Samba and Puma Speedcat are starting to pop up more. It's interesting how the industry goes in cycles, and it feels like we’re returning to some of those old-school silhouettes, but with a fresh, modern twist. The way people approach sneakers now is a lot more about versatility and comfort, but they still want that iconic look. Fashion and sneakers are constantly evolving, but there’s always a nod to the past, which keeps the culture alive.
OOP: What is the hardest part about having a full-time job and making music on the side? How do you balance the two?
Kenno.P: It’s definitely a challenge, but it’s all about time management. The hardest part is probably just finding those pockets of time to really dive into music when you’re already busy with work. But I’ve got a deep love for both fashion and music, so that passion keeps me motivated. The key is staying organized and knowing how to switch gears when needed.
OOP: Do you have any new material in the works and can you tell us about it and when can we catch you live?
Kenno.P: Yeah, I’ve got a lot in the works! I’m working on both collaborative projects and some solo material. For my next release, I’m going back to my roots, blending retro Hindustani music with modern hip-hop sounds. It’s something I’ve been experimenting with for a while, and I feel like now is the perfect time to bring it to life.
As for live shows, I’m planning to take things up a notch in 2026, so stay tuned for some performances that bring this new vibe to the stage.
OOP: What are the 3 things you do to slow down? And why do you think it is important for people to slow down?
Kenno.P: I do a few things that help me reset. First, I listen to Alchemist’s beats on shuffle - his instrumental work has a calming, reflective vibe that helps me clear my mind. I also make sure to spend time with family and friends, which keeps me grounded and reminds me of the simple joys in life. And I like to take walks - just getting out in nature or around the city helps me slow my pace and recharge.
I think it’s really important to slow down because life moves fast, and if you don’t take moments to pause and reflect, you can miss out on appreciating the little things.
OOP: What does being at your own pace mean?
Kenno.P: Being at my pace means doing things on my own terms, without feeling restricted by outside pressures or expectations. It’s about moving through life in a way that feels true to me - whether that’s with my music, my job, or anything else. I don’t want to rush or force things; I prefer to let everything unfold naturally and trust my process.
